Farage 'blames' the West for pushing Russia to invade Ukraine

BBC viewers who tuned into Nick Robinson's Panorama interview with Nigel Farage have slammed the programme, calling it "intolerable" and "insufferable."

The election special saw the Reform UK leader being grilled about topics such as climate policies, migration, the NHS, Brexit and the invasion of Ukraine.

However, those who watched the interview complained on social media about Robinson's style of interviewing. One person moaned on X: "I really don't get Nick Robinson's Jackanory style of interviewing. It's hardly incisive #panorama."

A second fan also commented: "I can’t decide if Nick Robinson is harder to tolerate than Nigel Farage. At the moment I’m coming down harder on Nick Robinson. #panorama."

A third person also typed: "Why is Nick Robinson giving Nigel Farage such an easy ride? This is like a chat in the pub. Challenge his nonsense! #panorama #election2024."

Some viewers gave their verdict that Nigel nailed the interview, with one person saying online: "Nigel Farage very impressive, scruffy Robinson not so. That will have earned him a legion more followers.#panorama."

However, one viewer thought the interview did not go well for Nigel. They said: "Car crash interview for Farage with Nick Robinson . However, in terms of the sort of people who vote for Reform UK Ltd, I doubt that they will care . Probably think he’s doing brilliantly #Panorama."

During one segment, Nigel was quizzed about his comments that Vladimir Putin was the statesman he most admired. He argued that his words had been taken out of context.

He said: " This is the nonsense, you know, you can pick any figure, current or historical, and say, did they have good aspects? And if you said, well, they were very talented in one area, then suddenly you’re the biggest supporter."

Nigel was also grilled about Liz Truss and how he described her mini-budget as “the best Conservative budget since the 1980s”. He laughed at Nick Robinson and replied: "Some of the thinking was right, the delivery was wrong, the timing was appalling."

He also took no blame about the problems with other Reform UK candidates. In his closing statement, he said: "Do you know what I am? I’m a fighter, I’m a warrior, I’m a campaigner.

"I stand up against big institutions when they behave badly, whether they’re banks or out of touch bureaucracies based in Brussels, and very often, I win."
