Shewas born on July 19, 1904 in Ayer, MA, a daughter of the late Charles and Maria Cairo Forcino. BLOCK, Elizabeth G. Elizabeth Gertrude Block, a former resident of Wethersfield, died Sunday, (July 23, 2000) in Wethersfield.

She born October 13, 1913, in Torrington, to the late Emil and Ida (Kiesel) Block. She was raised in Hartford and attended local schools. She retired from the University of Hartford and resided in Wethersfield and Farmington before her final illness. Known as "Biddie" to her extensive family, she is survived by two sisters, Ida B. Sonstroem of New Britain and Aurelia B.

Wallace of Rifle, CO; many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, Arthur, Emil and Waldemar Block and sisters, Mildred G. Block and Ruth B. Winsor. A private committal service will be held for the family at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford.

Carlson, 69, of Brookfield, husband of Pauline (Schnitzke) Carlson, died Sunday, (July 23, 2000) at the Bethel Healthcare Center. A New Britain native and long-time resident, he was the son of the late Adolf and Edith (Olson) Carlson and moved to Brookfield in 1990. A graduate of New Britain High School in 1948 and Bentley College in Boston, he served with the U.S. Marine Corps, in the Korean Conflict. Adolf was involved in the Republican Party for many years and served as State Finance Commissioner under Gov.

Thomas Meskill. He served on the University of Connecticut Board of Trustees, the Board of Directors of American Savings Bank; the Board of Directors of Mooreland Hill School; the Board of the Lutheran Home in Southbury; and served as chairman the Board of Lutheran Social Services. He operated an insurance business started by his father, the Adolf Carlson Agency in New Britain until 1992. Be was a member of the First Lutheran Church in New Britain, the Shuttle Country Club in Kensington, andsince hismove to Candlewood Lake, has become a member of the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church Brookfield. He enjoyed fishing with his children and grandchildren, golf, platform tennis, travel and playing bridge with his friends.

Besides his wife of 49 years, he leaves two sons, Jeffrey Carlson and his wife, Mary of Vernon and Roger Carlson and his wife, Judy of Redondo Beach, CA; a brother, Dr. Alden Carlson of Cortland, NY; a sister, Margaret Jacobson of Wethersfield; two grandchildren, Suzanne and John Carlson, both of Vernon; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Clifton Carlson. Funeral services will be held Friday, 1 p.m. at the First Lutheran Church, 77 Franklin New Britain.

CONNORS, Terrence Sr. Terrence J. Connors, 70, of Simsbury, husband of' Grace (Quinn) Connors, died Sunday, (July 23, 2000) at home. He was born February 20, 1930 in New Haven, son of the late Terrence J. and Lucy (Begley) Connors, and had lived in Milford prior to moving to Simsbury 24 years ago.

He was a graduate of Fairfield University, Fairfield, classof 1954, and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict having served in the U.S. Army. Mr. Connors was an executive at the Hartford Insurance Company handling General and Product Liability, and Medical Malpractice Claims for 32 years prior to his retirement in 1992. He was a member of St.

Mary's Church, Simsbury. Besides his wife he is survived by two daughters, Maureen F. Connors of Middletown and Kathleen Considine, and her husband William, and their daughter, Ashley Belle Considine, all of Massachusetts; a son, Terrence J. Connors, and his wife Kelly, and their son Joseph Reed Connors, all of Simsbury. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, July 26, 9 a.m.

CUVIER, Jack Andre, Jr. Jack Andre Cuvier, formerly Windsor, peacefully sleep, 23, born April 31, of Somers, of East departed in his Sunday (July 2000). He was in Hartford, 7, 1969, the son of Jack and Dale Cuvier.

He attended schools in the East Windsor school system, graduating in 1987. While in school be participated in football, track and wrestling. He was captain of the wrestling team, undefeated in invitational tournaments, and runner up in Class NCCC State Conference. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, bowling, and billiard enthusiast. In 1997, he placed first in the APA Pool League of CT.

He was an foreman at Patriot Steel LLC of Windsor Locks. He was a member of the Iron Workers Locals 15 and 424. He will be remembered by family, friends and acquaintances for his outgoing personality, good heart, and the love he conveyed to his family and friends. He gave us so much love, so gentle and strong willed. From the time he was a small toddler until hisdeath, he was affectionately called "Kiki" by his mother.

Meriden CT 06490 NOTICES LIVINGSTON, Edmund "Ed" Douglas, Sr. Selma "Sally" (Swanson) Dahlberg, of West Hartford and Old Saybrook, died Saturday, (July 22, 2000) in Old Saybrook, she was 87. Mrs.

Dahlberg was born in West Hartford, the daughter of the late Malcolm Swanson and Selma Frid Swanson. Selma attended public schools in West Hartford, including the William Hall High School. She attended Lasell Seminary, and Lasell Junior College in Auburndale, MA. She also attended and graduated from the Chamberlain School of Retailing, Boston. Mrs.

Dahlberg was well known in the Hartford retail and personnel management field, having held the position of general superintendent and personnel director for Albert Steiger Department Store for 15 years. She taught Distributive Education for the State of necticut, including courses in Small Shop Management, Human Relations, and Sales Training. She was director of the Blood Program and director of Public Information for the Hartford Chapter of the American Red Cross. In 1959, Sally became executive vice president of the West Hartford School of Music and held that position for 20 years. She and her husband Carl, owned and operated Scandinavian Foods in Farmington, for 22 years.

Sally spent her time between homes in West Hartford and Old Saybrook, with four generations of her family enjoying the waters and beaches of Old Saybrook, the Connecticut River, and Long Island Sound. She enjoyed travelling, gardening and music and art. Mrs. Dahlberg was past president Connecticut Valley Lasell Alumni Club, past president of the Hartford Business and Professional Woman's Club, past president of the West Hartford Woman's Club, and past chairman of the West Hartford Woman's Club Garden Group. She was a member of the Musical Club of Hartford, Chapter member M.P.E.O.

and the First Church of Christ Congregational, West Hartford. She leaves her husband, Carl F. Dahlberg of Saybrook; a daughter, Susan Dahlberg Tobiasson and her husband, Bruce of Medfield, MA; and a granddaughter, Kristina Tobiasson, also of Medfield, MA. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, July 26, 1 p.m. at the Chapel of First Church of Christ Congregational, 12 South Main Street, West Hartford.

DUNN, Marjorie (Secord) Marjorie (Secord) Dunn, 86, of Enfield Terrace, Enfield, died Monday, (July 24, 2000) at the Parkway Pavilion Healthcare in Enfield. She was the widow of J. Edward Dunn, who died in January 1999.

Born in Springfield, MA, she had lived on Main St. in Agawam, MA for many years, moving to the Enfield community in 1953. Marge was a charter member of the Enfield American Baptist Church and had faithfully served the church in several capacities throughout the years. Prior to her residency at Parkway, Marge had volunteered many hours at the Parkway, where she was well known by the residents for her poetry reading and storytelling. During elections, her and her late husband also served as volunteers at the polls for many years.

She was also a member of the Suffield Grange. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by the former C.R. Brown Food Service Co. in the cafeteria of Pratt Whitney for many years, and later worked at Steiger's in Springfield, MA for several years. Marge is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Donna Dunn of Somers; five grandchildren, Adam J.

Dunn, Michael and David White, and Traci and Ashley McEachern; a brother, E. Russell Secord of Palm Bay, FL; and a sister, Bernice Dickinson of Woodstock Valley. She was predeceased by a son, Thomas E. Dunn, who died in 1977; and her sister, Pauline Hanson. Funeral services will be held Thursday, 2 p.m., at the Enfield American Baptist Church, with Pastor Donald Morris officiating.

She was a member of North United Methodist Church, and a past president of V.F.W. Post No. 2046 Ladies Auxiliary. She was a banjo player with the former Walter K. Bauer Band and then joined the Bill Brown's Red Carter Band, and had played the banjo for more 40 years.

Mrs. Hagenow is survived by a daughter, Shirley M. Hooey and her husband, Allan of Manchester; a brother, George H. Beebe and his wife, Jane of Manchester; a sister, Marilyn Keyes and her husband, Sumner of Hanford, CA; four grandchildren, Laureen Cohen and her husband, Max of Coventry, Dale Hooey and his wife, Susan, Deborah Marcue, and Hagenow all of Manchester; nine great grandchildren, Lyndsay, Brittney and Garrett Cohen, Taylor, Corodon and Mitchell Hooey, Danielle and Peter Marcue, and Raymond Bouchard. Butler, passed away peacefully Sunday, (July 23, 2000) following a courageous and dignified battle with cancer. Born in Hartford, June 25, 1936, daughter of Eleanor (Lofstrom) MacGregor of Newington and the late Robert W. MacGregor. Besides her husband and mother, she is survived by her three children, Robert S. Butler of Guilford, Janet B.

and her husband, Robert J. Izzo of Hamden and Timothy W. Butler of Canton; a sister, Sandra M. and her husband, Kevin M. Marinan of West Hartford.

She was a wonderful Mima to her three beloved grandchildren, Michael W. Izzo, Allison G. Izzo and Christopher M. Izzo. Marilou personified goodness and a deep abiding faith.

Her family was the most important part of her life. She was a wonderful wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend to many. Prior to retiring in 1999, she was employed at Data Management Company in Farmington for over 20 years. Marilou was an active member of the Burlington Congregational Church for 35 years. GRAY, Dorothea Kenworthy (Howard) Dorothea Kenworthy (Howard) Gray, formerly of Gray Lane, Goshen, the wife of the late Donald A. Gray, international attorney, died on Sunday, (July 23, 2000) at the age of 98, after a long illness. Mrs. Gray was the daughter of the late Harry K. and Margaret (Burdick) Howard of Newport, RI, and was a popular and wellregarded local artist specializing in land and sea scapes and other marine subjects.

Her work was recognized and acclaimed at regional country fairs where she won many blue ribbons. Before moving to Goshen permanently in 1958, Mrs. Gray resided in Westport where she was an active member of the Holy Trinity Church, the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Fairfield County Hunt Club, the Weston Rod and Gun Club, the Brooklawn Country Club, the Longshore Country Club, Cedar Point Yacht Club, Westport Women's Club, League of Women Voters, and the Norwalk Skating Club, During the Second World War, she participated in the Women's Auxiliary of the American Red Cross where she compiled a cookbook as a successful fundraising venture. Upon relocating to Goshen, Mrs. Gray was an active member of the Litchfield Country Club, Daughters of the American Revolution, a member and officer of the Goshen Garden Club, a director of the Goshen Historical Society, a member of the Grange, and a corporator and officer of the Goshen Friendly Neighbors, a senior citizens group.

Mrs. Gray is survived by a son, Donald A. Gray president and general counsel of the Western Connecticut Industrial Council, of Milford; a daughter, Joan Virginia (Gray) Daley of Cleveland, OH; four grandchildren, William Gray Daley of Downingtown, PA, Robert Allan Daley of Cleveland Heights, OH, Bridgett Anne (Daley) Frary of Niskayuna, NY and Bruce Howard Daley of Ashland, MA; as well as 11 great grandchildren. He was the husband of the late Beatrice (Sasseville) Laflamme. Born in Whitingham, VT, Mr. Laflamme lived in Hartford for over 50 years before moving to West Hartford several years ago. He was a member of St. Anne's Church, Hartford and it's Holy Name Society.

Before his retirement, he was employed by the Hockanum Mills in Rockville. Mr. Laflamme is survived by his son, Paul Laflamme, of Hartford; two daughters, Beatrice Laflamme, and Harrington, both of West Hartford; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; five great stepgrandchildren; three great great stepgrandchildren. He was pre-deceased by Henry, Albert, and Elmer Laflamme. His funeral services will be held Wednesday, 10:15 a.m.

OWEN, Philip B. Philip B. Owen, 64, of Englewood, FL, husband for 44 years of Marianne, died Friday (July 21, 2000). He wasborn in Hartford, March 8, 1936, and moved to Florida from Vernon in 1991. Besides his wife, he leaves a daughter, Cynthia Taylor of West Franklin, NH; a son, Steven of Vernon; and four grandsons.

He moved to St. Petersburg in 1968, from native Hartford. He retired as the plumbing foreman from the Bay Pines V.A. Medical Center in St. Petersburg, FL.

He was a member of Northside Lodge a member of the 6th Marine Division Assoc. and life member of the Marine Corp League and was a Veteran of World War Il; a life member of VFW Post 6827 and life member of DAV a member of the National Railroad Historical Society; and member of the First Baptist Church of St. Petersburg. James V. "Jim" Born in Hartford, Brozowsky, 30, of Wethersfield, died unexpectedly Saturday (July 22, 2000). He was the beloved husband of Jamie O'Rourke Brozowsky for two and a half years. Jim was the son of James V. and Patricia (Slesinski) Brozowsky of Newington, and was a Newington resident for most of his life, moving to Wethersfield two years ago.

He was a graduate of Newington High School in 1987 and was employed by Flattery Landscaping and Construction, Glastonbury, for 15 years. He was a member of Corpus Christi Church, Wethersfield. Jim can be remembered for living each day to the fullest. He loved everybody and deeply cherished his family and friends. Besides his wife and parents, he leaves his two loving children, Colin James Brozowsky and Olivia Marie Brozowsky, both of Wethersfield; his two sisters, Diane Brozowsky of Austin, TX, and Beth Brozowsky of San Diego, CA; his fat law and mother-in-law, James F.

and Maria D. O'Rourke, of Wethersfield; brother-in-law, J. Brendan O'Rourke and his wife Eileen J. of Wethersfield; his two nephews, Tommy and Mikey; many aunts, uncles, and cousins, including his uncle, Ed Slesinski and his wife Linda, and their daughter, April of Newington; his aunt, Sally Accatino, and her daughter, Diane of Wethersfield; and many adoring friends. His funeral services will be held Thursday, 9 a.m., from the Newington Memorial Funeral Home, 20 Bonair Newington, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10 a.

at Corpus Christi Church, Wethersfield. Interment will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. Relatives and friends are invited to call Wednesday, 4-8 p.m., at Newington Memorial. (Marinaccio) Cataldi of Hartford, the widow of the late Andrew J. Cataldi died on Monday, (July 24, 2000) at Medi-Plex of Wethersfield. Born in Hartford, on Oct. 25, 1909, she was the daughter of the late Paolina (DePaolis) and John Marinaccio. She was a proud graduate of the Brown School and as a woman worked at the old G.Fox.

Like so young, many of her generation she survived the Great Depression becoming a matriarch of her family and friends. Maria is survived by her son, George A. Cataldi and his wife, Marilyn of Wethersfield; her daughter, Johanna C. Wolosiuk and her husband, Robert of Hartford; five grandchildren, Andrea Wolosiuk Alvarado and her husband, Luis of Hingham, MA, Maria Wolosiuk Fenton and her husband, Edward of Wethersfield, Carla Cataldi Ruhe and her husband, Jonathan of East Hampton, Marie Cataldi Woodhull and her husband, Jay.of Glastonbury, and Andrew J. Cataldi and his fiancee, Crystal Scinto of Wethersfield.

Maria also leaves seven great grandchildren, Alexandra and Corbin Woodhull, Luis, Robert and Joseph Alvarado, Olivia and Gabriella Fenton. She also leaves a loving and dear sister, Colombia M. Ramsey and her husband, Edward of Wethersfield. She also leaves many loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, Anna Marinaccio and Antoinette DiFurio; and her brothers, Alphonso, Joseph, Rocco and Michael Marinaccio.

A special thanks from Maria and her family to all the nurses and aides at home and on D-Wing who showed kindness and professionalism in their care. Petrie, died peacefully at home on Friday, (July 21, 2000). Dorothy was born in North Adams, MA, a daughter of the late Phillip and Annie Chesbro. She was a retiree of the Travelers Insurance Hartford. She is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Shirley and Frank Ramisk of South Windsor, Marilyn Dion of Windsor Locks, Judith and Robert Rothe Windsor Locks; 12 grandchildren, Gary Ramisk, Lorie Paquet, Cathy Zaidel, Susan Roy, Elaine Rabbett, Jane Critz, Nancy Repetto, Marianne Daigle, David Rothe, Kim Wood, Paul Rothe, Lisa Cormier; 11 greatgrandsons; eight greatgranddaughters; two great granddaughters; a sister-in-law, Elmira Cheesbro; and three nephews. Be'sides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a grandson, Leroy Foucher and a brother, Gordon Cheesbro.

Private funeral service and burial will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. He was the loving husband of Sophie (Rozanowski) Prigodich for 50 years. Born in New Britain, he was the son of the late Antonina and Ecidor Prigodich. Ted was a former New Britain resident before moving to Newington 36 yearsago and was the owner of Atlas Stamping and Manufacturing. In addition to his wife Sophie, he is survived by two sons and daughters-inlaw, Richard and Jennifer Prigodich of West Hartford, and Kenneth and Lynda Prigodich of Plainville; two daughters and sc Barbara and John Meskill, and Phyllis and Edmund Kindelan, all of Kensington; a brother and sister-in-law, Stephen and Irene Prigodich of Newington; ten grandchildren, Andrew Prigodich, Katherine Prigodich, Russell Prigodich, Alicia Prigodich, Kenneth Prigodich, John Brian Meskill, Erin Meskill, Meghan Kindelan, Teddy Kindelan, and Kathleen Kindelan; and by several nieces and nephews. Ruth A. Thisdale, 86, of Middletown, wife of the late Victor O. Pariseau and Camille J. Thisdale, died Saturday, (July 22, 2000) at Hartford Hospital. Born in Newport, NH, she was the daughter of the late Leon and Lennie Waterman.

Mrs. Thisdale retired from the State of CT as a payroll clerk, was active in the Middletown Square Dance Club and Merry Mixers of Portland, a former piano player of Jackie Lynn School of Dance and was a member of First Baptist Church, where she belonged to Ruth's Circle Woman's Group. She is survived by a daughter, Janice R. Dickinson of Vernon; a stepson; and five stepdaughters; two brothers, Ralph O. Waterman of Florida, and Richard A.

Waterman of Middletown; two grandchildren, Robyn R. (Richmond) Vereen of Vernon, and John "Jack" Richmond, of Florida; five great grandchildren, Shayna, Lori, Matthew, Allen, and Christopher; and many nieces, nephews, step grandchildren, step great grandchildren and friends. She was predeceased by a brother, Ray A. Waterman, and a sister, Ruby A. Bugbee.

Funeral services will be held at the Doolittle Funeral Home on 1 Thursday, July 27, 11 a.m., with the Rev. Sue Prichard officiating. Interment will be in Indian Hill Cemetery, Middletown.
